Chad Morris interviewed to replace Tommy Tuberville as the next head coach of Texas Tech University. Tuberville replaced Mike Leach who was fired under questionable circumstances. Morris has been the offensive coordinator at Clemson University under Dabo Swinney where he has coached quarterback Tajh Boyd.

Morris had done a great job at Clemson but is competing against Kliff Klingsbury of Texas A&M for the position who coached Johnny Manziel to a Heisman trophy winner as a freshman.
